Chicago’s Enrollment Crisis | Part One

Chicago Public Schools enrollment has declined significantly in the past 20 years, losing more than 100,000 students. Kids First Chicago set out to better understand the key drivers behind Chicago’s school enrollment decline in this report— Part One of a two-part series.

To best serve multiple audiences, HALT created print reports in English and Spanish, along with digital summaries in both languages for easy access to highlights on mobile, tablet, and desktop. A key design element of this project includes watercolor effect place/thematic elements.

  • Custom watercolor effect illustrations for cover and chapter headings

  • Accompanying presentation(s) design in both English and Spanish

  • Social media announcement graphics and messaging
